Minimal Yet Magical

The Art of
Authentic Living

Step into a space where tradition whispers through every corner and luxury effortlessly embraces the calm of simplicity. Designed by Suhas Ekbote Furniture, this home offers a grounded sense of serenity, featuring Shahabad stone flooring, earthy raw-textured walls, and a thoughtful curation of traditional and contemporary furniture. At the heart of the home stands a magnificent bronze Ganesha idol placed atop a rugged raw stone slab, beautifully framed by rich veneer on the wall and floor — a symbol of strength, divinity, and rooted design. Hand-painted lift doors, antique wooden brackets, and a nature-inspired balcony installation invite reflection and awe. This is not just an interior; it is a soulful interpretation of heritage living, blending culture, art, and timeless craftsmanship.

Verandah Vibes on the 6th Floor

A rare delight, this breezy verandah on the sixth floor opens from the sitting room and offers sweeping views of the city. The space is a calm green retreat, featuring potted plants, a Tulsi Vrindavan, and a graceful Krishnavel creeper adorning the wall. It’s a serene corner for relaxed conversations, where tradition and modern comfort coexist in quiet harmony.

Framed in Heritage

Amar Chakradev’s cultural upbringing in the heart of Pune deeply influenced the design. With an emotional connection to wada-style architecture, Amar’s space reflects old-world sensibilities merged with refined modern living. Being a close friend, Suhas Ekbote intuitively translated this vision into layered design, where every corner carries the echo of history with the elegance of minimalism.

A Bold Blend of Tradition and Style

The sitting area makes a vibrant statement with bold yellow walls that radiate warmth and energy. Traditional konada (arches) frame the space, adding depth and cultural charm, while contemporary sofas and styling create a sophisticated contrast. Together, they form a harmonious blend of heritage and modern design that feels both rooted and refreshingly refined.

Timeless Threshold

A spectacular monolithic wooden arch from the Peshwa era demarcates the pooja space from the sitting area. With no visible joints, this single carved piece exudes grandeur. Hanging brass lamps on either side add warmth and ceremonial charm, while intricate motifs on the frame speak of a bygone era. It’s a symbolic gateway — between devotion and daily life, art and architecture.

A Wall of Memories and Meaning

In the hall, a thoughtfully designed memory wall comes alive with wooden strips and box niches. Some hold black-and-white photographs, while others serve as utility spaces. Gayatri’s fabric art adds a personal, handcrafted touch, transforming the wall into a creative installation that beautifully reflects the family’s legacy and design sensibility. A true masterclass in emotional storytelling through space.

Restoring Legacy with Grace

A treasured unit from their forefathers’ era was carefully restored — a vintage masterpiece brought back to life with dignity and grandeur. We preserved its timeless charm while enhancing its functionality and elegance, transforming it into a valuable centerpiece that honors the past and elevates the present. A true class apart, it now stands as a living legacy within the home.

Woven Memories

Gayatri, a costume designer by profession, envisioned a space that echoed her creative journey. Her bedroom became a canvas — featuring a vibrant handwoven fabric wall that pays tribute to India’s textile traditions. A distressed finish, sky-blue wooden cupboard adds character and contrast, creating a room that’s expressive, personal, and deeply rooted in craft and color.

“Suhas Ekbote Furniture made the entire process effortless and enjoyable. They understood exactly how to blend our cultural roots with modern style, creating a home that feels personal and authentic. We’re thrilled with how everything turned out and appreciate their attention to every detail.”
